If you've been searching for a job for a while now and are finally going in for that interview, there are steps you can take to ensure the interview goes successful. First, always dress professional. Even if you're applying for a job that will allow you to dress casually, the interview process is entirely different so dress appropriately. Have a friendly attitude without being overly bold. Be prepared to answer questions honestly. Pretend you're trying to sell something, which is what you're actually doing only you're selling yourself. Your goal is to show the potential employer that you are what they want and need.
Let them know your assets and talents and what you have to offer. Be confident without being arrogant. If they ask you if you can do something that you're unfamiliar with be honest but let them know that while you're not 100% familiar with it, you'd love to learn more about it and are open to as much training as possible. Employers like employees that are willing to learn and be team players. However, don't take credit for knowing something that you don't know. Sell your skills and talents to them so they can see what an asset you'll be to their company. |
